An idea for how DriverMP could deal with bad driving: penalty points on a licence, like the real thing. Rack them up and you get slowed down, downgraded, then parked. Nothing here is decided. Have a play, then tell us what you think.

Clean licence. Every truck, every trailer. Drive whatever you like.
How it would work
- 0+ Clean licence Class C+E Every truck, every trailer. Drive whatever you like.
- 3+ On notice Class C+E No limits yet. Just a polite tap on the shoulder.
- 6+ Speed limited Class C+E A 70 km/h governor on our servers. Enjoy the scenery.
- 9+ Downgraded Class C Rigid trucks only, no trailers, 60 km/h. Box van life.
- 12 Suspended Class - Seven days off the servers. Time to try the bus.
Points would fade with clean driving, and every one would come with the clip that earned it, same as bans do now. Cheating, harassment and hate would still be a straight ban.

Our servers are in Europe. Pick where you play from and see what everyone else sees.

How other drivers see you
So whose fault is it?
Both. Yes. Theirs for living on the other side of the planet, and ours for only having servers in Europe, with no load balancing to put them somewhere closer. Either way, a crash that's down to lag wouldn't cost points: the replay shows it.

Lag and crashes aren't a crime. The replay shows a frozen truck, not a bad driver.

Accidents happen. Owning it in chat goes a long way.
